...is what this feels like. Somewhere along the way, I ran out of energy for blogging. I slowed down, sputtered a bit, and finally just stopped. I haven't even been reading many blogs for the past 6 months. Oh, I've kept up with a few written by close friends, but rarely commented.
A couple of things happened. First, I was approved for preliminary fellowship as a Unitarian Universalist minister last fall. For those of you who don't know, the preparation for the fellowship interview is intense. Afterward, my brain needed down time. Major down time. Second, I took an interim position as a part-time religious education coordinator. For 20 hours a week I worked on developing lesson plans and coordinating programs for families for what is, essentially, an RE program-within-a-program. There was a steep learning curve for me. I'd not taught RE below the middle-school level before, and had no experience writing lesson plans for younger children. Yeah, a lot of extra time went into learning what I didn't know...
Now - the RE position has ended with a new person taking my place (permanently). And, I was recently ordained, and am actively in search, with some geographic challenges...
Several weeks ago, Lizard Eater over at The Journey asked me if I'd sign on to a new blog, The UU Salon. I said "sure," then promptly fell headlong into the rush of ordination plans, followed by Mother's Day & birthdays (May is a big month for birthdays in our family), and M*'s college graduation! LE gently nudged me about The Salon today, asking if I had a question for June. I do - and it will be posted on June 1.
In the meantime, I'm prepping a sermon AND a wedding for this Sunday. Ah, ministry.
Here's some music...
